Success Stories

Thousands of marathon runners across the country have already experienced the success of the GoalPace G-Band. Read below for just a few who have reached their goals and achieved new heights with the help of the GoalPace G-Band.

"I met you in Salt Lake and was fascinated by your simple but inspiring product. I ran with my goal band and haven't taken it off since. I keep it on as a constant reminder of what I am trying to achieve every time I train."
- Melissa, Phoenix

"I recently ran the Boston marathon, and at the expo bought a GoalPace band for myself to try to re-qualify for next year(3:40). The band was great, and I ran a 3:38:30. Thanks for the band!!"
- Jeanne, New York

I saw your product at the Boston Marathon (I had qualified two years ago before the birth of my son and when I was training - a luxury I can't afford now). I was hoping to re-qualify at Boston but I knew it was a long shot since I hadn't trained in months. I purchased the 3:40 band (since I needed at least 3:45:59) and by checking the paces on the bracelet, I was able to meet my goal with minutes to spare!! (I finished in 3:41:03.) I would have never been able to have meet my goal without the bracelet since I haven't been training and wouldn't have known if I was on pace. Thank you so much for such a great product and see you in Boston in 2007!

On April 17, 2006 I ran the Boston Marathon. I went Boston with the sole purpose of honouring the memory of my brother Mark Brannagan by raising money for our local cancer treatment facility, since Mark had recently passed away from lung cancer.

GoalPaceMy marathon PR is 3:41:09, but I ran that between the ages of 34 and 37, so now at 45 years old my times are closer to just under 4 hours. Although I had qualified to run Boston with a time of 3:55:03, I had no goal for finishing time as I just wanted to finish since so many people sponsored me for the marathon. That changed slightly when I noticed the GoalPace booth at the running expo prior to the race. Sure my major goal was to just finish the race, but wouldn't it be nice if I could do so under 4 hours? I figured 4 hours would be the best I could do running in conditions that I am unaccustomed to where I live in Canada: a very hilly course, in a pack of 22,000 people, in temperatures that were warmer than I trained in all winter. When I found out that some of the proceeds from purchasing a GoalPace G-Band would go towards helping people with cancer, I was sold. I purchased a 4 hour GoalPace G-Band and checked it regularly during the race.

I am happy to report that I ran smoothly; finished in 3:53:18; moved up from 16,017 to 11,778, and I had fun the entire way...well, maybe not Heart Break Hill. After I returned home, I looked up the GoalPace website and ordered 2 more G-Bands: one for 3:50 and a 3:40 band because I can still dream of beating my PR.

I'll definitely spread the word to my fellow marathoners about the GoalPace G-Band.

This year I was able to run my second Chicago marathon. I've tried the paper bands, but with little success. A missed seam can lead to an unreadable band. Lamination did cover the band fully, but as a marathoner, you know that everything eventually rubs. The band got trapped under my sleeve and started rubbing into the base of my thumb.

I was able to try the G-Band this year, and have purchased a 4:00 G-Band for myself. The numbers are easy to read, and they don't rub off. The band is comfortable, and makes for a great training tool as well as race day pace marker. I think the band will make a great tool as I train for my half marathon in the spring because I can use the 13 mile mark to shoot for my 13.1 mile time. I look forward to the coming summer of racing and training, and having that nearly permanent reminder of where my splits should be!

Thank you!

I finished the Ogden Marathon last Saturday, and the person who sold me my GoalPace band at the expo on Friday asked that I respond with the outcome.

I had trained to finish in 3:20 (Boston qualifying for my age group), but instead purchased the 3:15 band to push myself a little bit. I found it highly useful and was right on the pace time until around the 23 mile mark, but because I had been running at that pacing for that long, I had more than enough "equity" built up that I still finished in 3:16:34, well ahead of my goal! (Nothing like playing mind games with myself!)

It was EXACTLY what I needed and worked marvelously! Thanks!
